Ready or Not Here I Come

McKay recently fell in love with the game Hide and Seek!! He is really good at seeking but we still needs to work on the hiding!!! He always hides behind the shower Curtain! Most of the time he hears me coming and runs out before I find him!! Love that boy! How can I spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week with someone and still feel like my time with him is slipping between my fingers too quickly??!

Well McKay, I think I distracted you with all the balloons, confetti and presents. I waited until the last second to put the cake in front of you because I thought it would be mutilated in five seconds flat. But instead you looked at it, poked it, tasted it and then quickly got up and left. I tried putting you back in front of the cake, but you wanted nothing to do with it. Oh, Well. McKay I can't believe your already 1! You have grown so much this past year! Your all over and LOVE to explore! We go on lots of business trips with dad and each time we do the hotel workers spoil you with cookies and M&Ms! You love to swim. You are starting to jump and climb. You say Momma, Dadda, Juice, milk, Stop, go, Uh oh, and whats this! You have TONS of facial expressions. Recently you learned how to glare. . . . Its adorable, but I'm not quite sure you know when to use it! You are very observant! When I am mopping the floor on my hands and knees you like to get a towel and mop on your hands and knees, when Daddy was putting the reformer together the other day he had a wrench out and was tightening bolts. As soon as he put the wrench down you picked it right up and fit the wrench over a bolt and tried twisting it. Daddy and I couldn't believe it! (Maybe you knew we needed a handy man in the house.) haha JK! Your such a big boy sleeping through the night in your own bed. I still find myself sneaking in just to stare at you! Your my precious lil boy and I love you more than you will ever know! You have taught me so much McKay and I am very very grateful I am your Mommy! Happy Birthday!

Stott Pilates does not exist here in Lubbock. But I am hoping to get my certification sometime soon!

Woody is the ward clerk so he leaves for church a few hours before us. I got McKay all dressed up in this little get up my mom bought him for his Birthday. We walked into church and found Woody. Woody turned around and smiled when he saw how handsome McKay looked! He swooped him up and told me to hold him like this (Belly side out) so that everyone could see his tie! Ha ha! SO cute. Woody is a proud father:) Love my boys!

Woody has this weird obsession with taking pictures of people sleeping. Ever since we got married I have found random pictures on the camera of me sleeping. My Mom and little sister came to visit last week! I really wanted to get McKay to sleep through the night and get him down to two feedings a day. I knew it would be easier if my mom helped me because I am such a softy it kills me to just let him cry it out. . . . .hence the reason he was still waking up 3-5 times a night at 11 months old. It was really hard for me and McKay, but we did it and I am proud to say that he is sleeping wonderfully and I am one happy mom in the morning! It was so fun to have family here! Miss you already thanks for all your help!

McKay finally has a crib!!!! We have some friends that bought this crib and it was the wrong color. They were so sweet and sold it to us for almost half price!!! Brand new never been opened! Thanks so much Emma and Jaden we love it!

Funny story about McKay. I was cleaning the bathroom the other day. Things were unusually quiet so I knew McKay was up to something. I finished up a few things and decided I'd better go see what he was destroying. I found him under the dining room chair. He poked his head out from under the chair and gave me a cheesy grin. Weird.......I guess he can play under the kitchen chairs .. . . .nothing wrong with that. So I went back to cleaning. A few minutes later I heard faint clinking sounds. I went back in the dining room and found him still under the chair with a handful of Nuts and bolts that he had unscrewed from the chair! I couldn't believe it so I quickly grabbed the camera! Love that boy!

I had a goal to be done nursing at six months......and here I am still nursing full time at 8 months. McKay refuses to eat EVERYTHING! We have wasted so much money on spoons, different foods, puffs, sippy cups and bottles. I've worked on it every day since McKay was 4 months old and he just gets smarter about smacking, spitting and flailing about. I am lucky if he gets a few cheerios and a spoonful of baby food/ cereal down his throat. I figured part of the problem was the fact that we didn't have a high chair. We got one and it seems to be working! New year resolution 2011.......Get McKay weaned!

We got to spend a few days in San Antonio with Woody's Coworkers! The hotel was beautiful! They took us to dinner, let us visit the spa and left us with plenty of time to explore! My favorite thing was the river walk. I didn't get any pictures this time but next time I will for sure!

6 Months!

I can't believe McKay is six months old! We let him destroy a cupcake for his half birthday!! That cupcake didn't stand a chance! Ten seconds and it was gone! The last few weeks have been CrAZy yet again! We packed and got on a plane to Lubbock, TX, left all of our belongings behind for the movers, lived in a hotel for 5 days while we scrambled to find a place to live, found a home that just felt right, moved in and here we are! Woody loves his job and is doing very well!

He is crawling all over the house!
He loves playing hide and seek!
He can pull himself up next to furniture, bathtubs, boxes and even inside shopping carts! I put him in the bedroom with some toys and jumped in the tub for a quick bath this morning. I could hear him cooing and playing so I carried on. I was in the middle of rinsing my hair when I saw 2 big blue eyes peeking up over the side of the tub! I looked over and said "Hey Boy!" And he started laughing his head off! It was the cutest thing!. . . . . . . Yet still weird to have a mobile baby! So much for ornaments on the bottom of the christmas tree! Oh well! Pics and videos to come soon.

One more thing! I am SO ready to be done nursing but I can't get McKay to take even a sip from a bottle and we have to force feed him any kind of food. . . . Help???!!!

I am so glad I found Miranda at sweet pea! She is so professional, prompt and creative! She told me I could bring any props or ideas for the photos! I thought long and hard! Girls really are so much easier to dress up! Finally I thought about this Nike sweat band! Luckily I found one that fit just perfect and Miranda had the background that just happened to be perfect for it! So hhappy with the results!

A Crazy busy two weeks

Finally we reached our destination! These luscious photos are taken right outside our apartment! I promise to post more photos as soon as we are all unpacked!

McKay did so well in the car..... until we got to Wyoming. I think his expression says enough about that part of the drive!

Because I am a paranoid new mom I just had to sit in the back of the car and watch McKay for the twenty hour car ride... So naturally this is the best shot I could get of the driver!

I can't believe everything that has changed in such a short amount of time. Woody graduated from college. I quit my job that I loved so so much. We gave birth to our amazingly handsome baby boy. We packed up and moved out of our rexburg apartment. I moved home for four days while woody moved to Utah to start his new job. My parents drove me to Utah to meet up with Woody after finishing up doctor appointments for me and McKay in Rexburg. And the day AFTER I got to Utah we packed up our little car AGAIN and moved to Kansas City where we will hopefully be staying for at least the next four months!

The Story

We were due to have Mckay on the 14th of April. He always measured small and so I wasn't too surprised when his due date came and passed and I was still pregnant. I've never really been the type to take pain medications because I feel like I heal so much faster if I just stick things out ..... so I'm one of the crazy people that really wanted to have a natural birth. I took a hypnobabies course and LOVED every minute of it! I learned so much. Doulas are amazing. I also felt more comfortable having a midwife deliver. So anyways I kept getting farther and farther past my due date and I was told I should probably get induced. I pushed it off and pushed it off because inductions tend to make contractions stronger and closer together which lowered my chances of having a natural birth. I was exactly a week over due and decided with my midwife that we should go ahead with the induction. I went home and packed our bags and got to the hospital around 6PM on the 21st. They started me on pit around 7ish and I was feeling great. I was bouncin around on a birthing ball just talking away with my mom and Woody until around 9 when the contractions got pretty strong and pretty close together. Finally my midwife let me get off the pit to see if my body would keep the labor going on its own! Thank goodness it did:) I was so happy! She also let me get out of bed and unhook myself from all the monitors! I can't even explain what a relief that was! I got into the jacuzzi at the hospital around 10 and things got pretty intense but the water helped take so much pressure off my body. After an hour or so I was feeling like giving up but luckily held out till midnight when the midwife checked me in the tub and figured I was dilated to about an 8 or 9. We waited for another contraction and rushed back to the hospital bed before the next one hit! She checked me again and said I was about an 8 but said I could push if I felt like it. . . . . . OH MY GOSH. One push and I realized how amazing it felt. It was like I could finally kick those contractions in the butt:) The midwife started getting ready to break my water but it broke before she got there. I kept pushing my hardest and after 4 contractions McKay was lying on my chest! My midwife didn't even have time to change her gloves or anything. It was the hardest thing I've ever gone through but I felt so amazing right after and we were able to leave the hospital in less than 24 hours. I'm so grateful everything went as planned and I can't even explain how it feels to finally be a mommy! What a perfect little angel our boy is and we are cherishing every moment with him!

Baby McKay was born April 22, 2010 at 1:30 AM! It just happened to also be my 21st birthday! I couldn't ask for a better gift or delivery! He weighed in at 7lbs 2 oz and is 20 1/2 inches long! We are all doing amazing!

Woody's Graduation

Woody graduated with his B.S. in Communication today! We are all so proud! What a stud! I really didn't want to still be pregnant on his graduation day, but I am and it all worked out! We can't wait to have our little boy, pack up and move on to the next journey in life! Today was also my last day of work. It was hard to leave, I cried a lot but i'm ready to stay home and take the best care of my two boys that I can!
P.S. I know you can't really see my belly in the pic because of my coat but I promise the belly is there and ready to deflate!

I can't believe its already been 30 weeks!!!! Looking back its gone fairly fast but looking ahead it seems like I still have a long time! I find myself thinking about our lil McKay more and more! Last night thee coolest thing happened! I was lying on the couch just feeling my belly move in all its crazy ways when all the sudden I literally felt a foot (mostly the heel) slide across the inside of my stomach up between my ribs! It was SO cool because I could feel it inside AND outside with my hand! I thought maybe he might do it one more time so I annoyingly forced woody's hand on my stomach and wouldn't let him go.Then.... he did it AGAIN! WOW its such an amazing feeling! Its moments like those that just take away the nausea, tiredness, laziness and cramping and gives you the motivation to keep going!

Woody and I had our twenty week ultra sound yesturday. This whole time I was so sure I would be having a girl.... ya, well this little baby is definately NOT a girl!! When the ultra sound tech told us it was a boy I was so confused. How in the world am I gonna raise a boy!?? I've never been a boy in my whole entire life! But the more I think about having another man in the house the more giddy I get! I LOVE boys:) Plus, I'll still have the little perks of bein the only girl at home!

One Whole Year

Woody and I have been married over a year now! Crazy how time flies! We are more in Love than ever! I still love the fact that I never have to sleep alone. I finally have a best friend that sticks up for me no matter the circumstance. I adore the fact I have someone that I can be completely honest with and know he will never tell! I'm sure we have cried, laughed, smiled, and freaked out more this past year than ever before! Who could ask for anything more than that??! Since we have had such a great time together we decided to go far far away for our first anniversary.... we stayed in the Mayan hotel suite here in Rexburg! Ha ha I had a whole week off so we had plenty of time to be with eachother and mess around on PHOTOBOOTH! I figured we better post something for our one year so Here it is!

Jessica has worked with me at the eye center for almost two years strait! She is moving to New York in a couple weeks and this is her last week of work:( We will miss her so much! When there are only two assistants and one doctor every day you have no choice but to become close. Its a good thing we have so much in common! She has been an AMAZING friend! She talked me through my first year of college when I just HAD to EXPLODE about my roommates! She was there when I was TRYING to find the right guy and when I finally DID find the right guy! She was the only person I dragged with me to the jewelry store when I picked out my engagement ring! We had LONG conversations about marriage before the big day and she answered every question I ever had! She absolutely loves life and wow she has taught me a TON! Kim is taking her spot here in the near future and she is amazing herself! It has been so fun working all together! We will miss you Jess and we wish you the best of luck!

Its almost been NINE months since Woody and I got married! Time goes by fast when you look back at it.... We have gone to school, worked like crazy, quit one job, got layed off from another, picked up a new photography hobby, made a little money on the side, more school, even more A+'s (good job Woody), taught Gospel Doctrine in church, fought over Book cases, my laptop, cars, families, gospel topics, laundry, and probably everything that you could ever think of! BUT we have NEVER ONCE gone to bed mad! So we have learned that we are quick to forgive! We have cuddled, hugged, kissed, laughed and cried together (not at chick flicks of course!)! I don't think we could be much happier! I mean Woody has gained 20lbs and me 15lbs cause we are so happy! Ha ha umm ya, Okay I admit it enough cuddling more MOVING! We have had the best time together and I am so grateful every day that I am not living with 6 girls in an apartment! Nothing is better than Marriage and everything that comes with it!

Hattie was so kind to spend ALL of Saturday with me at the temple helping me practice all the details that go into a shooting for a wedding! And Woody being ever so nice. . let us use him as a prop! Hattie and Woody are such good friends that it wasn't TOO awkward to have them pose as a couple while I took photos of them wrapping their arms around each other in front of the temple! Gosh we were ALL laughing SO SO hard! Thanks guys!

We stopped at my parents house last weekend to get Woodys hair cut from my sister in law and my mom had these "Fizz EDS" in the fridge HHHmmmm that looks interesting....so I checked to see what it was and well Apple Juice in a CAN with sparkling water! Well its been almost a month now since Woody and I decided to dive into the marriage pool and join the rest of the crowd! My E-life has been on hold because my little I-Book was smashed during the move and well it is in the process of being sent back to the apple store for repair! But anyways Woody and I just first off want to thank the fam for making us feel so special on our wedding day! I can't even explain how it felt to just leave the mess behind and get in our car and drive away leaving you all to clean up cause well I've been there 4 times I hardly knew how to react not having to lift a finger the whole day! So thank you all so very much! We are just lovin married life we have had some battles but so many moments that seem so perfect its surreal. We have found that 1. We can't handle the responsibility that comes with a 32 inch Plasma TV 2. We love to lift weights together at the gym 3. We are too competitive at running that we are not allowed to run side by side without cranking out so much energy that we don't have and practically breaking the machines while we are at it! 4. Where in the world did all this laundry come from 5. Moderation in ALL things and 6. I can't believe that the person I wake up to each morning is 100% completely mine! We are learning and growing together and I can't think of a better way to do it! PS the other day Hattie Bates her husband and Woody and I decided to go out to eat and she showed us Christy's, Justin's, Chris's and Nathan's family pictures! You all look completely perfect together and we will get you pictures soon!

Woody and I both had eye surgery this past year! I had the amazing opportunity of having Dr.Gardner perform the miracle of lasik on both of my eyes. I had to wear glasses for a couple weeks before the surgery. Woody's was not as fun but Dr. Romriell did an extensive Vitrectomy on his right eye. He did really well and we are hoping all is fixed!

OUR FANTASTICAL STORY

Who would have thought that I would fall in love at work.... with a patient?! Last October I was just having a normal day at work. It was towards the end of the day and the other techs and I were rushing patients in and out as usual. I was standing by our desk shuffling through the stack of charts while I was waiting for a room to open up. I was looking at the patients pictures wondering who my next victim was gonna be when hmmm he is actually really cute. Just then a room opened so I grabbed the top chart and opened the waiting room door. I saw the cute patient in the waiting room only to find out that he was even cuter in real life which I didn't think would be possible. Believe it or not I finished up and grabbed the next chart and it was Woody's. I called his name and he stood and smiled. I of course felt as if my heart was going to leap out of my chest but stayed calm and professional. Well we both could tell we were into each other and when he asked if I was married I KNEW he was free game. I of course ran through my automatic check list of ....I wonder what is gonna be wrong with this one. But he kept seeming more and more perfect. I remember thinking k if this kids eyes are blue when I check his pupils he is flawless... on the outside. And of course ding the bluest blue I've ever seen. K well he isn't LDS. Well checked his blood pressure. Missionary tan line...nice biceps and a speeding pulse!? What is more perfect than that? He left that day and it became the topic of the office. A couple months later he had another appointment he requested me to be there. I made it back from rexburg that day just in time for his appt. He asked for my number asked me out the next day and we were engaged 5 months later:)
